Wrong Link

Sometime ago I wrote about a software suite that I recommended. I gave an incorrect link and for that I offer an apology. The software itself was correct, but the link I wanted to supply actually made the program worthwhile. If you don't know what I'm talking about, no big deal... if you followed the link, downloaded the software and wondered just what is he talking about, let me try agin. Here is the correct link:

It is free and 'loaded' with software - download button is on the left side, green in color. :)

Just Observations

1) The young lady from South Carolina everyone is calling a ditz? I feel sorry for her. She has a 3.5 GPA in the school she attended. Now if we want to talk about inflated grades that is another issue, but the piling she has endured is tired. 99% of the guys'n dolls who do the news on TV would be in precisely the same shape if their monitors went blank. They read the stuff... they would be dead in the water without their crutch.

2) I despise what Mr. Vick did to the dogs. What I admire about Mr. Vick is the fact he gave a statement to the world without reading said statement. He showed more courage than 99.9% of any politician you've ever seen. And just for the record, there is more consternation about the dawgs than the babies this nation kills each and every day. But, what the heck.

3) The senator from Idaho - he is dead meat. The republicans themselves will run him outta office. Period. He is OUT - bet the farm. Probably will not finish his term let alone run again.

In Essence - Its Been Forgotten

I went for my walk today down by the Mighty Mo (Missouri River) - as is usual for me, my iPod was planted in my ears. I like playing it on random, meaning no set type of music plays continuously. Recently I had downloaded some Faith Hill music but I didn't really know precisely what I'd downloaded.

All of a sudden I was back to 9/11/2001 - it was reporters interviewing people on the streets of New York that horrific day. Many people's comments were recorded as a prelude to Faith's singing of the National Anthem. Talk about cold chills. Hotter'n the hinges of hades outside and a chill washed over me as I listened to this recording.

Today, if anyone brings up 9/11 they are accused of trying to scare the populace. They needn't worry - the populace has forgotten... so very sad, but in general, so very true.

I encourage you to follow the link above and read about a very inconvenient truth. Quite illuminating.

Dynamite Don Imus Ha Ha Ha Ha

Remember when I wrote about Don Imus??? I said, and I quote: "One last note - on today's show, among his (Imus's), blubbering apologies, Imus made a statement that evidently I am the only one who heard. He said, and I quote. "I should not be fired, and I will not be fired without repercussions". He did not elaborate, but it sure made my ears perk up. Words do mean something, and "I" wonder just what repercussions means. :)" Unquote.

Note the following:

**EXCLUSIVE 10:19 AM ET ** Radio host Don Imus has agreed to settle his contract with CBS for $20 million, and a non disparaging clause, legal sources claim. The move opens the possibility Imus will soon return to the airwaves -- on WABC in New York! [Top radio executive strongly dismisses Imus will be offered WABC slot] Developing...

What a country - Words do indeed mean something. ha ha ha ha ha ha

ABC News

I had gotten so very tired of what I perceived as bias on NBC Evening News, I had switched to ABC with Charlie Gibson. He is the fatherly type doncha know. So ABC's opening tease last night was about Karl Rove, and how did they play it??? The President loses what he describes as the architect of his presidency.

I have 1K in dollars to anyone who can find where President Bush has EVER said that... what he said was... and this was just after his election, as he turned to Rove - "the architect". He was giving credit to who had orchestrated his election. I have zero doubt Rove had mucho input into the daily goings on within the administration, but the mis-use of this simple phrase drives me nutso. Words do mean something; in this case, it was a simple acknowledgment of what Rove had accomplished.

I know the mainstream is snarly about the fact Rove was not frog marched out the door; you can bet if they had anything on him, even an ingrown toenail, they'd use same.

The Poor Farm

Recently there was an article in the paper about the veterans home that just closed. The facility was built in 1917 and originally was a 'poor farm'. While the fact there even were poor farms was something I'd been unaware of, a subsequent conversation with an in-law sort of validated the existence of poor farms at one point in time.

I can remember my father saying over the years... "I do the best I can, and if that isn't good enough, they can take me to the poor farm". I always thought he was being melodramatic, and in fact I suppose it didn't make me feel real good.

Come to find out, there 'was' a poor farm where I was raised and I had no clue. The in-law who told me, said my father and one of his brothers would swing in there now and then just to make sure it was available in case the 'needed' the services. Oh the things one learns as they travel down life's path.
