The 9/11 Victims

Telegraph | News | Families of 9/11 are 'the rock stars of grief' says sister of Pentagon pilot

I had written about this very thing some time ago... you won't get the opportunity to see this lady on the main street media... she must not be allowed to be seen.

Sine Wave

I'll tell you... my mind sure whirls up and down watching the lead up to our general election. I 'think' I have finally succumbed to the idea that what will be will be. In my humble opinion it is beginning to appear the majority does not have the stomach to do what needs to be done... sticktuitiveness appears to be waning and I am sorry to see it happen. I guess one could have expected it but the fact is, President Bush said from the very beginning this was not going to be easy. Nobody believed him. I did... no, I did not think Iraq would be this tough, nor dare I say, did the administration... OK, it is tougher than anticipated. We must stick to it.

Why Can't We See?

I believe from the bottom of my very soul that the American people should be shown each and every day the beheadings, the people jumping from the World Trade Center, all the gruesome things that our press refuses to show.

Yes, they showed the planes going into the buildings... those were sensational pictures; they did not show the horror. The horror showed people jumping and trying their best to fly to a safe landing... the horror is watching the videos the savages shot while beheading our people. The horror, much to my chagrin, is just about the only thing that will get through to this society in which we live. We as a people need to see the horror in order to steel ourselves for what is coming.

I so very much appreciate a president who does not bend with the polls; a man whom you can see 'the horror' in his face and yet is standing firm. He named the axis of evil very early on, he was right, it is not going to stop w/Iraq. It is 'our' world war... anyone who does not believe it is fooling themselves in my humble opinion.

BIG Decision

I woke up this morning and while sipping my coffee informed Kay I had selected a date to retire from my present job. 1 March 2006 will be my 10 year anniversary at this job. I think that is the right time to go out the door.

I told my supervisor; she wanted to know if I was serious. I told her I'd only say it once and then just fade away. I feel good about the decision... it feels right.

Reagan Junior

Here I thought I was done writing about the Reagans for a spell. Saw a teaser tonight about tomorrow night's Dateline - all about what young Ron is going to say about President Bush. Anybody that follows this stuff even slightly knows that young Ron never has liked The President... in fact, were one to check out his past, he didn't like his own father's policies. And the only reason this is going to be news is because of the recent funeral. Otherwise this has been 'known' for many moons.

The President

What a beautiful ceremony. Nothing more need be said. It was beautiful, it was majestic... can anyone think of anything that could have made it better? May he rest in peace.

One More on President Reagan

Dunno about you, but I have enjoyed all the anecdotes on Mr. Reagan the last few days. Makes me feel good inside, and I suppose that is what he may be remembered for most. We do have short memories, but when he took office, inflation was in double digits, the Dow for crying out loud was at 500, interest rates were double digit.

Nancy has been a rock for him; while I never was a 'real' Nancy fan, what she has endured this past 10 years has put her up on top of 'the pedestal'. I admire her.

President Reagan

Anyone remember the memorial service for Senator Paul Wellstone? He was running for re-election during these past mid-term elections. His plane crashed on approach into a remote location in Minnesota. Regardless, his memorial, supposedly a celebration of his death, turned into a loud jeering anti-Bush rally. No matter you party affiliation, it was disgusting. High ranking dems in attendance had nothing negative to say [UNTIL], they heard the uproar from the public.

Now, we are getting ready to have memorial services for President Reagan. I will bet my 'last' dollar there will be nothing political about his funeral. Furthermore, if there is, I personally will be outraged.

I read where President Clinton was miffed he was not invited to speak at the funeral. There is the story about the very first time President Reagan entered the oval office when he was elected... it was just him and Mike Deaver. The President sat down at the desk, placed his hands on top of the desk... felt the surface in a circular fashion and said to Mike... don't you just have goose bumps??? Here was a man who demanded coat and tie just to enter the oval office. Now, considering what President Clinton did in the oval office... do you really think President Reagan would appreciate him speaking at his funeral? Nay, I think not!!

President Reagan

Mixed emotions probably state my feelings the best. I am glad the family will no longer have to watch what must have been a terrible 'wasting away' taking place. I saw an old photographer who had taken many pictures of the Reagans over the years. He had finally called Nancy and asked if he could take some 'final' pictures... if she thought it would be OK. While he did not reveal the date, I would say it was within the last 3-4 years. You could see the life had ebbed from Mr. Reagan's face; he was wearing glasses (you never saw 'that' in public) - the photographer told The President it was good to see him, and while The President shook his hand and held it in that special way, all he could say was his famous: 'well'. That little story nearly made me tear up.

Regardless, there is something in this situation that eats in my craw. The very people who called him an idiot are now falling all over themselves in singing his praises. Hypocrites in my mind. Regardless, I have been enjoying all the old clips from his past. My favorite was always the one where he said he would not exploit Mr. Mondale's youth and inexperience. This was during one of their debates. Ole Fritz even laughed from his belly, and it was just a glorious moment... likewise his incident in New Hampshire when he said, "I paid for this microphone". I guess those were two moments I will never forget. He was a dandy, no doubt... one I would 'ride the range with'.

The Pope

I watched clips of our president meeting with the pope this morning. I'm left to wonder about whether or not it is allowable for The Pope to step down. My goodness, I have sympathy for him in his current condition. It would seem to me, and I certainly don't have a dawg in this hunt, a vibrant Pope would have much more influence on his flock. Far be it from me to have any say in this matter, but I just don't understand why he does not step down.
