   I have successfully severed my relationship with the two sponsors who have dropped Rush!  And, I am more than happy to see that one of the companies is in deep doo doo.  Interestingly enough I believe it is as much because this company continues to advertise on several umm, shall we say, liberal outlets, thereby resulting in their obvious bias.  I hope they fail in toto.

   I want to report just how happy I am we are nearing the objective of President Obama… his words!!! As I went to the grocery this morning to do my weekly duty, I noticed fuel (regular) is $3.97 per gallon.  Thank you Sir!   I will really be ecstatic when we get to $5.00.  Re-elect pronto!!!

   I finally saw an ad in the local paper for power washing my deck.  I called and the two fellows came out immediately.  They could not find the house, but I went and got them.  I had a price in mind based on what the insurance company gave me last year. Turns out these fellows are union electricians in Omaha where the unemployment rate is 4.3% +/- .1 either way.  Said they had to do something, the union bosses keep telling them to hang tough ‘brother’… it is going to turn around.  Sigh.  Fellow said I don’t know how you feel about unions, but…

   This was an opening I don’t normally let pass.  I told him my tried and ‘true’ philosophy transferred to me from my Father – in  short, do a good job and you will be compensated.  I could I suppose, elaborate, but that is all  you need to know.  In my twenty years of employment in the private sector I ‘never’ joined a union… I had ‘some’ encounters because of my refusal(s.  In one case the job was incentive based.  I manually made a cable  that when completed had 20,000 loose wire ends – I memorized this cable.  The pattern took up every page of a stenographer notebook to plant a picture in your mind.

   Here is the bottom line.  I needed to make four of these cables in an 8 hour day to make quota – I worked there six months.  By the time I left I was making four by lunchtime.  Now, I, were this individual incentive, could have made allot of ‘m o n e y’.  It was however, group incentive.  So that, were I to look around and see several of my fellow group missing I would wonder where in hades they were – turns out, they might be off reading the paper, and or meditating on their respective throne.  THEY got to participate on my production, and guess who were the loudest critics of my refusal to join ‘their’ union.  Brothers my butt!! 

   I learned to stand on my own feet; I hope I have instilled that in my own children, and I am too old to change.  Regardless, I believe my little chat with these two fellows made a dent in their minds – and oh by the way, they did such a good job, they earned a nice tip.  They were hungry and their labor proved it!! And I, after our little chat was trying to make a point.  I think they got the point. God bless America!!

 

Aggravation ! !

   For me, my biggest aggravation regards the Ms. Funk issue is how the media portrays, or better, does not portray the issue clearly. 

   First of all, the religious aspect is, or should be clear.  The government is trying to require religious organizations to provide contraception in their insurance policies.  No matte how you look at it, this is a mandate, e.g. a requirement.

   The media will always come back and say the religious organization is not being required to provide the contraception, the insurance company is being required to do so at NO cost to the people.  This is the biggest crock of doo doo I have ever heard. At an age I can no longer remember I was taught there is no free lunch.

   In this case everyone’s rates go up in order to offer another benefit.  It is so very clear, and when it is spewed erroneously each and every day it gets so jumbled.  This is my aggravation!

Rush!

   I have listened to Rush for 20 years +; I make no apologies for doing so and I will continue to listen.  I will confess to cringing last Wednesday when he ‘first’ mentioned Ms. Fluke.  And yes, yes, he needed to offer her an apology.  It was (the name calling), over the top.  The thrust of his argument was not, and it is a very sad commentary that the real story is being blindsided. Welcome to the real world I guess.

   As for the advertisers.  I will speak for me only; I have a sleep number bed, I have used Pro Flowers, and I use Carbonite.  I will NOT ‘ever’ give up my sleep number bed, but I have informed Pro Flowers I will never buy another flower from them; I have pulsed Carbonite whom I still have a 152 day subscription, about a refund, and if I find out there are other sponsors I have used that have dropped Rush, I will drop them.   For me it is simple.  There have been numerous times over the years I have disagreed with Rush, but I will tell you this – he has a pulse on what is really happening out there whether one wants to admit it or not…his use of satire is not understood by many in the country and accounts for many who bastardize him. 

   Over the years I have fought family members over issues raised by Rush – 99% of the time they have not listened with any regularity at all to understand his shtick.  He has said many times over the course of time, you must listen to him for ‘about’ 2-3 weeks before you understand his methods. 

   I am not going to try and convert anyone; I could care less – he can take care of himself. I will remain a loyal listener and argue with any of the sheeple out there who are in the mood.

Hell Is Indeed Going To Freeze

   I have followed politics since I was an early teenager.  I am now 66 years of age.  Since the time Social Security was passed and up until this past year, the Democrat Party has accused the Republicans of trying to gut Social Security – UNTIL LAST YEAR!!

   All of a sudden, with the suspension of the payroll taxes  which are to fund Social Security, it has been sold as a tax cut to the Americano peoples.  Absolutely unbelievable!  Can  you even begin to imagine if Bush were proposing this fiasco? 

   I know “I” never thought I’d see this happen… then today the ‘elephants’ capitulated for continuation through the end of this year.  We are worse than sheeple.  It is disgusting, it is dishonest, and the people are not being told the consequences.

   Dear Heavenly Father, please look down on us with kindness and compassion for us; we are going to need it in the end, (if we make it to the end).

   So I am a Clint Eastwood fan, have been for many years.  Doubt there is much one can do to detract from that fact.  I just wish, his Super Bowl ad had mentioned the millions and millions of dollars the taxpayer had give in order to ‘supposedly’ make Chrysler profitable.  I was born at night Clint, but not last night.  The profitability part is doggone questionable by the way.

   I will freely admit none of the Republican candidates truly excite me.  I can equally say I would vote for an orange juice can before I would vote for our current president.  Just saying.
