The Giver of The Prayer – Rick Warren

First of all, I personally don’t really care for this fellow – just a little too ‘new age’ for my taste.  I’ve never heard him preach, I’ve never heard anything, except him being interviewed and or talking.  Nothing specific, just an age thingy, (mine).  Regardless, I find the ‘lefts’ response to Obama selecting him to deliver a prayer at the inauguration to be somewhat comical.

Here is the bottom line, a bottom line that never changes.  The ‘Right’ is always, and I do mean always, criticized for not being tolerant.  In the case of the ‘Left’, the ‘Right’ is considered tolerant “IF” they agree with the ‘Left’ and nothing else will ever do.  Doesn’t matter what the subject, be it abortion, be it, religion, Supreme Court, ‘anything’ with political ramifications. Nothing ever changes in this regard.  Either you agree with us or you are intolerant.  Gets quite tired.

I will say this – if Mr. Warren delivers his prayer with his eyes closed I will be somewhat impressed.  Another thing weird about me I guess.  A minister who has to READ his prayer is not to be trusted.  If you can’t pray to your God without reading it, you don’t really believe it in my opinion.  You are just doing a ‘reading’.  High school speech class.

Laura Bush

Laura Bush

One can not hide genuineness.  I dont’ think I’ve ever heard anyone say anything bad about this lady.  You look, and you just know she is a nice person. She will be missed.

Chrysler Shutdown

Question for the class – I think we can all agree it is not a happy time at The Big Three.  It was announced yesterday or early today that Chrysler is shutting down for 30 days.  Now, one’s initial thought would be the workers would not be paid during the shutdown.  Nope.  According to the article from Reuters, the workers will receive 90% of their pay.  Again, on the surface, this sounds wonderful, especially at Christmas time.  However, do you think perhaps these sort of policies might be abit responsible for the shape The Big Three find themselves?  I dunno, perhaps I am a dunce, in fact I’m sure I am.  I am not insensitive to the plight of the workers.  I have a daughter shown the door from her place of employ after sixteen years.  Not even a chance to clean out her cubicle, and I have been around more than my share of layoffs what with working in the defense industry.  It is a cutthroat world in which we live. I just wonder about this policy.  It means, ladies and germs, WHEN they git the bailout, you and I will be paying the salary.  Oh well, we’re gonna anyway, so it may as well be sooner than later.

Blagojevich – [ Blah – Goya – Vitch ] – Hereafter Bloggo

There really is something interesting about the Bloggo situation – I was around and about Chicago yesterday and had the radio on almost constantly.  I heard things I / you don’t hear from afar, or unless you are constantly surfing the net looking for  updates. Regardless, I was stunned to hear the total disdain the people of Shytown seem to have for Bloggo.  When one stops to consider Chicago / Illinois  politics, can you honestly say you are surprised?

Here is the surprise.  The democrat party trying to get rid of this guy without due process.  I mean, they want him out of the way in a hurry.  You have to know this is very unusual behavior for the democrat party.  Think back to the last time you heard of anyone in the democrat party being accused of wrongdoing and the denials, the stonewalling, the backing by the party as a whole for the accused.  Not for Bloggo.  Do you not find this intriguing?

Could it be to get this guy outta sight before he is linked to The President Elect?  The President Elect (TPE) says he had NO communication with Bloggo regarding his replacement in the Senate.  Do you believe that?  First of all, there would be nothing wrong with a communication of that sort, in fact it would be customary I would think.  It would be out of respect that any governor meet with the outgoing Senator to garner their input.  But NO communication??? I am sorry Mr. Obama, I do not believe that, not even a teensy weensy bit.  If it doesn’t make sense, it isn’t true.  I learned that from Judge Judy, and methinks she is right.  It just does not pass this cynics smell test.

So now we are going to be faced with the incessant drip drip drip of Bloggo-Gate.  There is always something to yak about, doncha think?

The radio in and around Chicago said Bloggo’s approval rating is 8% – President Bush is probably gloating.

This Is Why "I" Like Politics

Adviser Who Insulted Clinton Has Role in Transition - washingtonpost.com

This is one of the reasons I like politics.  And, it is 'the' single most important reason I despise politicians.  There is no way on this earth I could accept working with someone who said similar things about mwaah.  I don't care if they disagree with me, but if they, umm, insult me, then for me, it is over.  And so, I will be watching this one... it may indeed get interesting, and I for one do not think this adviser will be working closely with Ms. Clinton for long.

Change

I had been diligently keeping track of Mr. Obama's Cabinet appointments - I'd been hoping to identify those who would represent 'change'... you know, I think he called it new thinking.  Those are ideas of the 'old thinking' he used to say when countering an attack by one of the other democrat debaters.

Well, I have deleted the draft that was being composed. I figure it would be senseless babble when there really is no change.  Oh there will be change alright, but  not the change he had promised.  It is, I think, a recognition he does not have all the answers.  I actually find that abit encouraging.  I do wish him total success.
