My Wrens

We have had a cool cool spring to this point for which I am not complaining one iota.

The wrens usually come anywhere from mid to late April.  This year the first wren came into the neighborhood on 2 May, very late. We saw her poking around two of the three wren houses in our yard, and of course we heard her.  What a beautiful sound. A sure sign that spring had finally sprung.  It looked like we were going to be blessed with watching them for another year.

And then?  Gone, as in GONE in TOTO.  It would be one thing for them to not select one of our houses.  One would still get to hear their beautiful warble in surrounding yards.  But for whatever reason they have abandoned this neighborhood, and they are not heard in any fashion.  How very very sad.

While what you read above is absolutely true, I am looking to point a finger at 'someone'.  I'd say President Bush is a good candidate. He's blamed for everything else, sooooo... yup, sounds good to me.
