This’n That

It is the beginning of week four of dialysis for spousal unit.  I have noticed some things in passing as we come and go to the dialysis center.

Obviously most of the clients are older.  There are those on crutches, those in wheelchairs, amputees and just about anything in between.

One thing seems to be a constant.  Good attitudes.  I find this quite interesting in one way.  It takes four + hours each and every time one goes… this does not include travel time.  Yet, these folks to a tee seem to have good attitudes – I think I attribute the attitude to knowing and understanding just what dialysis accomplishes for the patient.

Today as I was leaving after dropping her off, an elderly gentleman whom I’ve chatted with before was arriving.  He was talking to a driver delivering wheelchair bound patients.  The driver said “aren’t you a doctor?”  Irony… the elderly gentleman who probably used to send people ‘to’ dialysis is now receiving same. His attitude is even better than others.  He sings at times.  Just revealing things one observes as they ramble down life’s path.
