Keystone Pipeline decision – no matter what side of the fence one is on, President Obama’s decision to hold up the pipeline is the most blatant ‘political’ decision I can think of… blatantly political. I can not think of an appropriate adjective to describe what must be going through his mind. There are no words.

I am confident the President will illuminate the resurgence of GM in tomorrow nights State of The Union address, but what he does not (will not) mention are the tactics taken to get there. Ever heard of Bain Capital? Ha ha. Same techniques used here. I am still holding to my pact to no longer buy GM. I get a company discount because of previous employment with a GM company; I intend to never again buy GM due to the bailout. They could have reorganized and accomplished the same thing – nobody will ever convince me otherwise.

It is interesting to hear the Republican ‘elite’ tell us who we should nominate to carry the party standard in the upcoming election. I’m not saying Romney won’t get the nomination, but what I can tell you is this – if he (Romney) does not find a better way to articulate his positions, he will NOT be the nominee. It matters not what the seers of the party say… the fricking thing called ‘the people’ will do the deciding. The people are so very tired of being told they are too selfish, too rich, and yes, too white. They are so tired of seeing political decisions (e.g. Keystone), that so obviously hurt this country. Anyone who thinks the Tea Party disdain for government has waned, does so at their own peril. No matter what one says in disagreement with the President is deemed racist. Garbage.

So they have gathered the required signatures for the recall of Gov. Walker in Wisconsin. Let me just say this – what Walker tackled is going to be faced by every governor in this country, some sooner than later, but they all will face the same issues of paying high government salaries + bennies. So, whether or not they will be successful in their attempt, what is happening there is a forerunner of what’s coming everywhere.

I do not care who the eventual Republican nominee is; the anal inspection that will be afforded to them will be nothing short of breathtaking. It will be the dirtiest on record; I see nothing that has convinced me otherwise. Matters not whether or not it is Romney or Newt (and yes, I suspect it will be one of the two), the vitriol will be spewed non-stop.

Have you ever wondered in the world of politics why Republicans are always called extremists? You never hear of a far left person being tagged with that moniker. Along the same lines, you ‘always’ hear the Republicans need to be more moderate. Do you ever hear that about Democrats? Just wondering.

For 25 years I’ve had an anal exam in January… 25 consecutive years. At the same time I get my prescriptions written for the year. It so happens I also have diabetes. So, I make my regular appointment and paid special attention to preparing cause I know what’s coming… NOT.

(she) What are you here for John, your diabetes? (me) Not really, that is part of it, I am here as I am every January for my physical, and to get my scripts written for the year. (she) We can’t write the scripts if we do the physical. We can write the scripts if you are here for your diabetes. Snap decision… (me) OK Sappo, take my blood for the diabetes, write the scripts and I will get my hole probed in July vice January. That was tween the nurse and me… when the doc came in, I told her as plainly as I could that for 25 years you have probed my ass in the month of January… nowI gotta wait till July. Isn’t life grand?

I did tell her I understand the new and improved insurance rules; the purpose of mentioning it here is simple. If you do not believe there are changes coming to ‘your’ health care, you are a fool. I think we all are fools, but that is another story.

The press should be in an uproar!!! And because there is no uproar, you had better buckle your seatbelts. He is going to run roughshod over our Constitution.

I am not too sure what to think about the loss of the drone over Iran. This much I know. If there is not already, there should be a way to destroy them remotely. The loss of this technology is not a good thing. I guess I should not worry. President Obama has requested the return of the device. Just saying.

I have watched most of the debates so far. Every time I think I have made up my mind, I listen to another debate. I guess this is a good thing. It gives one time to shake the trees again and again prior to deciding.

It is becoming clearer all the time that Fast and Furious was a government scheme with the end result more gun control. Regardless your opinion on guns, aren’t you proud of the surreptitious actions by ‘our’ government? Makes me abit ill inside.

I have for many years paid for my own flu shot because I did not want to wait for them to get to the military installation I frequent. Since turning 65 I can of course go to the drugstore and get it paid for by Medicare. Were I to walk in off the street and get the shot, it would be between $25 and $30 American. Upon receiving my Medicare printout I notice Medicare paid $55.00 and I have no clue if that is American or otherwise. Isn’t this interesting?

I have to say I am surprised at the apparent strength of Newt. He would not have been my first choice by any means although I have said for many years he is the smartest man in the room. He just puts his foot in his mouth often and then has to back pedal. I just do not know what to make of it; I know only one thing. “WHOEVER” the Republican nominee is, they will get my vote over President Obama.

I saw a funny tweet this morning I want to share – will have to paraphrase, but it said: “how do you break up an Occupy rally? You take up a collection.” Loved it and I am continually amazed at the workings of the human mind(s.

I was sickened to watch the video of the 8 year old boy telling Michelle Bachman his Mother was gay and did not need fixing. The mother is yellow, and it turned my stomach to see her use her child in this situation. Repulsive.

I wonder just how many times the public will forgive Alec Baldwin. Just an observation. He is the epitome of the elite in this country, e.g., do as I say and not as I do.

Beginning to look more and more as if ‘Fast and Furious’ was a major thought out scheme to generate public opinion regards gun control legislation in this country. But, this scheme was designed by our ‘King’ and savior, so it appears if anything is to be done about it, the congressional hearings will have to pull it out piece by piece. Very sad.

Penn State: I guess we all have our opinions on this issue; mine are centered on two people at the moment. Paterno and the assistant coach (graduate assistant at the time he ‘saw’ Sandusky in the shower). First of all, I have always held Paterno in high esteem. No more. It is a sad commentary for him to go out this way, but I think he deserves the ridicule. You will never convince me he was totally unaware of what what going on around that campus. As as for the grad assistant? If he had ‘any’ morals, and if the indictment is true in what he saw. He is yellow for not going into that shower and physically knocking Sandusky on his ass. I suspect Paterno will die of a broken heart.

The great state of NE gets the privilege of paying for another environmental impact statement for the Keystone pipeline. It appears the drive to stop the laying of the pipeline across the Sandhills in NE was successful. The impact statement was already done, and if you ask me, this verifies the EPA is a sham. If the EPA statement was indeed detrimental, do you not think the government would have released that information? You bet your sweet buttocks they would! Now we get to start over on the impact to the rerouted area. Good luck Nebraska. The dirty little secret is, the environmentalists do not want oil, period.

OWS vs Tea Party

Surely on can decipher the major differences between what is going on with OWS and what went on with the Tea Party rallies. Let’s see if we can identify just a few.

a) No arrests with the Tea Party – allowing for the fact there may have been a few, they did not get publicized, so I have to conclude there were none. With the OWS crowd the arrests are now in the hundreds – even the low thousands.

b) It was said time and again after Tea Party rallies concluded the places were as clean or cleaner than when the rally began. It has been reported places being occupied by OWS personnel are like pig stys. Something to be proud of doncha think?

c) The Tea Party folks almost in toto are and were hard working people who want one thing; they believe their taxes are high enough and we are not getting what we are paying for. In general we can say OWS people are not working and want handouts. How can one say this so convincingly? Because, jobs being what they are in this country today, those hanging out sure as the world are not working. These people are takers, period.

So now they want to shut down the port in Oakland. It amazes me the people they are putting ‘out’ of work. An interesting concept. One has to conclude they believe anarchy is the answer. I can and will say this as emphatically as I can. President Obama has fostered class warfare since the beginning – he learned it as a community organizer. He has successfully injected the notion into our day to day discourse. He is reaping the fruit of this seeding. He can be proud, but hopefully it will backfire. Once people begin to die (and they will); once the violence and destruction become too great, the people will rise up and ‘take this country back’!

Occupy Wall Street

Me? I hope these freaks refuse to leave; I hope they resort to violence; I hope they don’t bathe for weeks on end. Sadly, the cold will come and they will leave.

Once again, these wackos remind me of 1968, except I honestly believe this bunch is less informed. I’m not even against some of the things they are for – it is just ‘they’ don’t know what they are for themselves.

One of the arguments I get the biggest kick out of is the one saying no big wall street peep has gone to jail. Let me be the first to tell you, if there were law breakers there, they would have been cuffed and publically walked to jail. The simple fact is, the [LAWMAKERS] in this country have created such a maize of laws, the rich, through their lawyers can get away with just about anything. Why not blame the lawmakers? That is where the issue lies.

In my mind, begin anew in this country with the tax laws. Scrap it all, and make it simple – make it so simple one can NOT get around paying their fair share and you could take away many of the issues that now face this country.

One last thing – while I no longer work, I sure as this world turns on its axis, never got a job from a poor person (or a company that did not make money). Good grief!

The charge by Bank of America is a simple one to ward off. Simply change banks if you do not desire to pay. I would however, gently suggest to the class this charge was brought on by you loving Congress. They are the ones responsible by limiting the amount banks could charge merchants on transactions. Always remember, for every action, there is indeed a reaction.

I’ve been watching Herman as he goes through the rigors of the campaign. Have been aware of him for many years because of Godfather’s Pizza. Herman was the CEO and therefore resided in Omaha. I must say, there is not much he says I disagree with, and I would not be too awful surprised if he didn’t surprise some folks. Wouldn’t it be an interesting contrast to have two black men running against each other? It would be “THE” most revealing thing you ever saw… the left would finally be revealed to be the biggest hypocrites in all the land.

If you ‘ever’ had reason to believe Jon Huntsman was wrong to run for the Republican nomination, it has been revealed Michael Moore has selected Huntsman to challenge President Obama as an independent. What an endorsement.

I can remember a long time ago writing that racism in this country as deteriorated since President Obama took office. It now seems the media is beginning to agree. It is a sad sad commentary to me, because I still remember when The President was in Iowa oh so many months ago. I remember saying something to the affect; if he can sway the people of Iowa, he can go along way. The people of Iowa were sold a bill of goods – we can now confirm.

I’m not sure what to make of Christie of New Jersey – just not sure. I do like what I’ve seen. Joy Behar is now asking point blank if America is ready for a fat president. Can you just imagine if, oh don’t even bother. The left always has, and always will be able to get away with things such as Joy said without recrimination. I ‘do’ know already there are some things about Mr. Christie I do not like, but, considering the alternative? Elect him!

The Awakening

I think it is fairly obvious these days Americans are waking up to the nightmare they are living. If you are a news junkie like I am, you cannot read too many headlines these days that do not question this Presidency. And the media is now realizing they did not do their due diligence on The President while he was running for office. Note these recent headlines: ‘Libs Vow Primary Challenge Against Obama’ or, from the Chicago Tribune: ‘Why He Should Withdraw From Race’, and the best for me is New York Times columnist David Brooks admitting he is a sap for having believed. http://goo.gl/JGPAa

I ‘think’ people are also waking up to this ‘tax the rich’ business – let us take this Warren Buffett crap one more time and put it in a different light. Mr. Buffett is worth between 45 and 50 billion depending on whom you believe.

This country pays 4 billion dollars a day to service it’s debt. If you took every dime Mr. Buffett has, it would pay our service charges for about twelve days. Now, does that not at least suggest we need to cut spending just abit?

I am not now, nor have I ever, suggested Buffett is doing anything illegal. There are so many loopholes created by our ‘lawmakers’, and Buffett durn sure has the means to pay accountants to find those loopholes. My anger with him and those that espouse what he’s been saying is, they are not being truthful. They are comparing the taxes he pays on ‘his’ income (mainly capital gains), to his secretaries normal income. Just is not the same and makes me so mad I could spit nails.

Does any of this guarantee the defeat of The President? Nope, but it does give me hope when I see evidence of awakening being blatantly printed in our news sources.

The rhetoric coming from the left post the shooting of Gabby Gifford was deafening. Seems just prior to the wingnut shooting the congresswoman Ms. Palin had talked about targeting democrats in the political races in Arizona. Without rehashing the meaning of the word targeting, democrats used those words to imply Sarah was responsible for the shooting. Bunch of crap – period!

Now comes the Hoffa incident calling for ‘taking out the S.O.B.s – it is absolutely delicious listening to the left justifying Hoffa’s remarks. Personally I don’t give a hoot. I’ve been called much worse than an S.O.B. and considering who it is coming from, I will take it as a compliment.

Ms. Pelosi is ticked the GOP is not responding to President Obama’s speech on Thursday evening. Evidently she is peeved because nobody on that side of the aisle will be able to ridicule ‘whomever’ the GOP may have given the task of responding. In other words, she got her toy taken away. They were deprived of ‘getting’ to ridicule. Makes me feel all squishy inside. BTW – this little façade happens on ‘both’ sides.

The issues within the postal service are massive. Having worked there for a period of time (not a long period), I do know they are not overpaid. I also know there is a massive discrepancy between what the human costs are in the postal service as opposed to UPS and FedEx. Something is wrong somewhere. The scare stories about shutting them down is only the tip of the iceberg. Parks, firefighters, police… does anyone notice a theme here? Government…..something is wrong. Wonder what it could be. Anything to do with public services is going to be put out there to make you/us say… we cannot do without ‘THAT’!! But, I suspect in the end we all will have to do with less.

The iPad has revolutionized the computing world, and I for one will miss Steve Jobs. It took me time to realize his genius, but I have, and will admit to being a late comer.

The six most mis-used words in the English language – ‘this is a FOX News alert’. Sheesh!

Once again I have been hearing that unemployment benefits return $1.84 to the economy for every $1.00 it costs. This argument is used to show unemployment benefits are ‘good’ for the economy. I say unemployment benefits for everyone – why, the economy would be ablaze!!! What twisted logic.

I have no clue what is going to happen in Libya, nor does anyone else. What I do know is this – we here in America have our definitions of democracy, what we at least perceive as democracy. Even within this country there are many different interpretations. In the Middle East, ‘their’ definitions are quite different. Take Egypt – the uprisings and rebellion there this past summer promised total freedom. Let us be clear, their definition of freedom will never be like ours, at least like ours once was – we still have the most freedom in the world – the Mid-East will never have freedom like here.

Everyone was all atwitter regards VP Biden’s supposed agreement with China’s one child policy. Here is a point in this discussion that I’ve heard absolutely nobody address and it jumped right out of the TV screen at me.

Mr. Biden said “You have no safety net. Your policy has been one which I fully understand -- I’m not second-guessing -- of one child per family. The result being that you’re in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable.” (Emphasis mine). NOBODY picked up on this!!!

Now class, a question for you – is not this the current state of our Social Security system? Does not one worker support four retirees? If it is not sustainable for the Chinese, how in the sam hill is it for we Americanos? Answers in fifty words or less please.

I was asked several months ago by a family member who I thought would be the Republican nominee for President. I said I did not know, perhaps someone not presently known. They wanted to know what I thought about Romney. I said then, and I say now, the opposition will focus on his being a Mormon. Me? I could care less about Mitt’s being Mormon, I just know the other side. And guess what – they are introducing the word ‘weird’ when referring to ole Mitt. They make me sick at times.

I said leading up to, and I will say again, I am ‘glad’ for the S&P downgrade of the United States. I am hoping, really hoping, this is the impetus to get The Congress off their collective asses and do something about spending. I know it may be painful – so be it! We need to suck in our collective bellies and take the medicine. I was grateful to see the result of the recall election in Wisconsin. It gives me ‘hope’ for the country. Unions poured big bucks there in order to take back the majority in the Senate – they failed. It was glorious watching ‘The Ed Show’, just to listen to him spin the outcome. Regardless, thank you Wisconsin voters for restoring abit of my confidence.

Do you realize in Europe, there is rioting going on because benefits are being slashed? The people doing the rioting are getting arrested. In ‘this’ country, the people trying to cut spending are called terrorists. Do you find that just abit ironic?

And, if you believe taxpayers, the Tea Party, Republicans or whatever you want to call them have won, you are an imbecile. We have given assurances for new tax increases in the future. As usual, the word emergency is written into this new bill (not passed at this writing). In other words, if there is an emergency we will not be able to cut defense, and we dang sure won’t be able to cut Medicare. Therefore an emergency will be present and we will ‘have’ to raise taxes in order to avert disaster. If anyone things around Christmas time anyone is going to cut Medicare they are smoking something. Further, they are not going to cut Medicare to the beneficiaries anyway… they will once again go to the providers, and in the end, that will be a cut to beneficiaries.

Congress has once again abdicated ‘their’ responsibilities by turning the tough decisions over to a six member panel / commission, whatever you wanna call them. Harry Reid makes my skin literally crawl, and McConnell and Boehner are not much better. They are yellow, all of them are yellow cowards, afraid to take a stand.

I literally do not care anymore. It is a proven fact that has taken me aloooong time to realize… the establishment runs the joint. I knew it, I just didn’t believe it. Media people agog over the fact Tea Party people would not buckle. Well, in the end, they all buckle. The pressure is too great.

And by the fricking way – who cares if the ratings agencies downgrade us and raise the interest rate the government has to pay on the debt. Just raise the debt limit you idiots. In the end, that is what they are saying anyway.

I say, we may as well default now and get it over with. The sooner we clean up our act, the better off the country will be. It will be tough, but then, it was tough staying outta debt myself over the course of my life. I see now, I was a wingnut.

Every time I see Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner I think of a tax cheat! Can’t help it.

Every time I hear Charlie Rangel lecture Republicans on anything to do with ‘money’, I think of him laying on the beach. and his non reporting of income. Can’t help it.

My state’s Senator (Nebraska), who is up for re-election is playing the Social Security card ‘AGAIN’! Says he will of course vote for cuts, but for no reductions in SSA or Medicare. Sameo sameo. Well Senator – “I” get SSA, ‘and’ Medicare, and you Sir are just about totally responsible for Obama Care! I voted for you in the past; never again will you receive a vote from me on any issue! In my mind, Obama Care is ‘the’ single most destructive bill to have passed in this countries history. You disgust me with the scare tactics.

Lest ‘anyone’ forget when listening to the democrats cry for bipartisanship in raising the debt ceiling. Obama Care was passed without a single GOP vote… not a single vote. In either chamber! The simple fact is – the GOP would raise the debt ceiling but they have some qualifiers called ‘C U T S’ included.

When planning for my retirement I included SSA as income. I always had this simple philosophy. If “I” don’t get paid, nobody will get paid – this stemmed from my thought that if I did not get paid, that meant the government had defaulted. The 14 trillion national debt is just the tip. State retirement packages are some 60 trillion in the hole. I ‘think’ people are finally beginning to see what we are up against. I don’t know if he can, but I ‘HOPE’ Boehner can hang tough. If we default, perhaps we need to.

I have been listening to the jurors who sat on the Casey Anthony jury – I have listened (they do not show their faces), try and rationalize their decisions (first three counts). They have not convinced ‘me’ they didn’t have enough evidence, and nothing they say will ever convince me. Further, can anyone answer this question. They all talk about how revolted they were regards the thirty-one days. If this is so, why did they not ‘hang’ the jury… they could have drawn straws - six for and six against, I don’t care which count, and still gotten the job done. At least Casey would not be getting out this weekend. As for me? I hope the jurors have nightmares for their remaining days on this earth. Literal nightmares is my wish, and yes I do believe in our system. There are just times when ‘they’ get it wrong… OJ comes to mind.

The President and his party once again threatening seniors with the delay in dispensing Social Security checks makes me sick. Does it or does it not mean that what we have always heard for years is that what we paid into SSA was in a lockbox was a lie? I suspect it was all one big lie. Just like the Ponzi scheme SSA actually is when all is said and done. Oh well.

Anybody know why the Feds don’t just either do away with the debt limit or raise it 100 Trillion all in one fell swoop. Can you tell me what difference it would make? Since 1962 the ceiling has been raised seventy + times according to accounts I’ve read. So tell me, pick a number and let it go. Doesn’t make any difference anyway. In our local newspaper the other day was an article on state cutbacks that were affecting “LEGAL” immigrants. I intentionally placed ‘legal’ in caps for this discussion. Upon reading the article, and it was lengthy, I nearly laughed out loud. Imagine – ‘legal’ immigrants having benefits cut.

Now, I realize I trying to go the toilet straight up a rope, but, can you imagine if we didn’t have to put out for “ILLEGALS”?? I have no idea just how much is being spent on ‘illegals’, but I will guarantee you it is substantial. My sympathy factor is fading – I doubt I am alone. Things are going to change, whether it be via the rule of law or a total breakdown of government.

For the nitwits out there who will call me racist. It is not about being racist. I am, and always have been offended by one word. “ILLEGAL”. If you do not understand that, you are in my opinion, ignorant. Not saying I agree with our current immigration laws – they obviously need updating. The President released 30 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserves. I didn’t know there was a shortage in the United States did you? Have you had to wait in any lines? I haven’t, and I have not seen any mention of lines anywhere within the confines of these United States. The main reason given is a worldwide shortage due to upheavals in Libya. Umm, “WE” do not get any significant amount of oil from Libya. Bush ‘filled’ the oil reserves after finding it depleted by Clinton. Those reserves are for an emergency, not high gasoline prices. But nooo, the U.S. released 50% of what was released worldwide… amazing.

Everyone is all atwitter regards the the confession of Mr. Vargas of the Washington Post. He of course won a Pulitzer and has now confessed to being here illegally. Would someone puleeze answer me a simple question. Why do we even have passports? If this crap is going to be condoned, why not just open the borders in toto? Either we have laws or not, and evidently it is ‘NOT’. Makes me physically ill.

Before it has ended, we are going to find out that the flooding along the Mighty Missouri River this year has been caused by mismanagement by the Corps of Engineers. It is becoming more obvious by the day. They are going to be found to have been cow towed by environmentalists among others. We deserve precisely what we get, but let there be no doubt it is a disaster.

Now Geithner and company want to raise taxes on small business so they do not have to cut the size of government programs. He's not MedEvac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.
Even after the MedEvacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway.
And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you at a time on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety.
And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!
Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.
He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.

The second I heard the code word Geronimo in relation to the Bin Laden incident, I turned to the wife and said… someone will obviously call this a racist term. It did not take long: http://goo.gl/Rp5PL The sad part? We “KNEW” and expected it!

For me, my initial thought on the Bin Laden incident was – I don’t need to see anything. I was quite ambivalent. I will only say this – I think the way the administration has handled the whole incident has ‘created’ various issues. The administration ‘can’ do things well – somebody planned the Bin Laden operation from start to finish and it was executed with precision. To me, that is what makes this staggering around after the fact so annoying. In my opinion, they turned a fine wine into a sour mess.

I personally was caught off guard by the fervor of the American people post the killing of Bin Laden. I was happy he was gone; I was just abit surprised by the reaction of ‘the people. Not displeased, just surprised.

I come from the school that says enhanced interrogation works, so to me it was poetic to hear Director Panetta admit nuggets of information were harvested using those methods. Course, later others in the administration realized how this might look, so they said it did not happen – umm, The Director says it DID! Guess he’s lying. Sorta like Hillary standing there in front of God and country saying the Packis’ had helped in the finding and execution of Osama – and umm, Panetta saying the Packis’ had no advance knowledge. It is one or the other Gonzo.

It is fascinating for me to see the reaction of media because President Bush declined an invite to Ground Zero today. I think it is really quite simple. #1 when he left the White House he said he had enough of the limelight. He has (unlike others), respected the time honored tradition of turning that light over to his successor. #2, maybe, just maybe Bush saw how Rep Ryan was treated after being invited to an announcement about a health care issue and was then publicly humiliated by President Obama.

I have refused up until today to register my car via online. The reason for the refusal is they charge an extra $3.00 for handling. This year, knowing I only get around 17 MPG on the Mercury, I figured with gas at $4.00 per gallon I made out by doing so online. I did however give them a piece of my mind in their opinion poll post the registration. Just galls me, PERIOD!

Bin Laden

About all there is to say about The Donald is he forced The President to finally do something he should have done when this controversy was first raised. Donald is still a media whore, and I still do not believe he will run for President of The United States. It is a sad commentary when a reality TV persona is what finally forces Mr. Obama to git off the pot. Sad indeed. And the only reason he finally released the document is because of what the polls were saying – only 38% strongly believed him. “HE” created that distrust.

News stories are filled with stories about an Afgan pilot firing on NATO troops. Sad as any loss of life is in war, when you are told NATO, you at least think it may not be U.S. troops. You have to dig just a bit to find all (eight or nine) killed were Americans. I dunno – I just don’t like deceit.

I want you to pay attention to President Obama, and for that matter any national democrat of any stature when they talk about the need to cut spending. They all say it needs to be done, and then they will say there are many places to cut. They just won’t say where. The know Medicare and Medicaid are in trouble and that cuts are needed, but will not name even one. Contrast this with what Paul Ryan is saying and you will understand why there is a problem. Just wanting you to listen closely as they spew. It can be entertaining.

I’m retired and don’t have to drive like those who are still working – it appears to me ya’ll better get locked in because I am of the opinion The President’s policies are engineered to not only make fossil fuels more scarce, but force change in this country. I still think Trumps flirtation is media hype – just not buying it! The only reason he has backing at all is because people perceive he has a couple of items swinging tween his legs. Put it any way you want, that is the reason. They will skewer him.

Dunno what the experience of others who have served their country in the military has been, but speaking for myself… in the last ten years I have been thanked more for my military service than I was ever thanked while on active duty. In fact, I’m not sure I was ‘ever’ thanked while on active duty. I find this peculiar, but I think I also know what it means. The Pendulum ‘will’ swing the other way. When it does, it will mean nothing to me, but for those of today who have known nothing but hearing ‘thanks’ it will be a shocker.

Donald Trump – Sir Donald is a media whore. Not too much more to say. “If” he is the Republican nominee I will eat my hat. In fact, I doubt if he will even run. It ‘is’ funny watching the media, who has kissed ole Don’s posterior for years, now begin to castigate him because he is talking about running. Quite revealing actually. But again, he is nothing more than a media whore. Period!

I have NO clue as to what will happen as it pertains to raising the debt limit – I do know this; the debt limit has been raised more than 70 times since March 1962. http://tiny.tw/w9 So in my humble opinion, maybe, just maybe it is time to try a different tact. At least get something in return. BTW, what does it mean if they do not raise the limit. Does it then mean we have to live within our means? Hmmm??? That might just be a good thing.

Once again the call for tax hikes is running rampant. I fail to understand why people cannot get it through their heads that people of wealth can find a way around taxes if they so desire. And, generally speaking it is not their fault. If Congress has passed laws allowing the circumvention of paying the taxes, IT IS LEGAL. Congress is where the issue is, and where it will remain. Do you realize just how simple this ‘could’ be? Course it would put allot of lawyers and accountants out of work. A flat tax. Nothing else need be said – you could eliminate the income tax and all deductions immediately. You would just be taxed on everything. Guess what… the rich would be buying the most, and accordingly would be paying the most, (just like they do now).

I remain convinced that Sarah Palin has more gonads than any man running (from either party)… she does not however (in my opinion), stand a chance of every being elected. I maintain it is the shrillness of her voice… men would wake up during the night with beads of sweat on their forehead if they thought they had to listen to that for a full term. My opinion, and I believe I am right. One thing is for sure… Johnny J off the street corner could not do any worse than what we are getting now.

Whether or not there is anything at all to the birther issue – know this, and know it well. Our President could end this controversy very quickly if he just would. He finds it to be to his advantage to let it fester. So be it Mr. President. You have proven one thing very well – you are proficient in dividing us… go to the head of the class Sir.

NBC Malpractice (In MY Opinion)

Tonight NBC Nightly News led off with Chuck Todd and Kelly O’Donnell – they were talking about the budget mess.

Chuck talked about LAST YEARS budget without saying so. Kelly talked about the upcoming year, again without saying so.

Here is what they neglected to say, and I consider it malpractice they did not bring this up. The democrats had a solid majority last year… if you doubt me, think health care. They did not get even one Republican vote in the House while passing health care. That means they could have passed a budget without even one Republican vote. Do you hear me NBC??? For anyone following the budget battle going on in Congress – think about this abit. First of all, they are ‘currently’ working on what was supposed to be passed last year. And remember the makeup of Congress at the time. They could pass anything (think Obama Care), and did with zero Republican support (except a budget). It is indeed a sad state of affairs. Through it all, the wascally Republican House has indeed brought forth a budget… the Democrat Senate? Nope.

Each and every time I see the rebels charging across the desert in Libya I think of the Oklahoma Land Rush of the late 1890s. All those covered wagons charging across the plains… close your eyes and I think you will see the same thing. Makes me giggle at a bad situation each and every time.

I am no friend or supporter of ‘Ka-Daf-Eee’, but, as I said very early on… just ‘who’ are the rebels? We very easily could be arming those responsible for killing Americans in other MidEast wars. Not a good thought.

I watched ‘Trump’ on ‘The View’ this past week talk about President Obama’s birth certificate. Here is the simple truth in a nutshell. 1) The President likes the controversy. He feels it benefits him, period. 2) The President could very easily, and I do mean easily, erase the controversy. That’s it. Nothing more. I will say, it was worth the price of admission to watch Whoopi go ballistic about the issue when Trump brought it up.

Just a general observation. Anyone who has read this blog for an extended period of time ‘knows’ my feelings about Katrina. I get as mad today as I did then about the scorn heaped on our government regards their response. I just wanted to note the people of Japan – those who have endured post the horrific earthquake and subsequent tsunami. The peoples reaction is what I would describe as grace. And by the way, have you heard even one story about looting in Japan? I have not – think back to Katrina folks. And think about this – I have been in hurricanes and typhoons. You have at least three days warning it is coming.

Enforcing a no fly zone. No lover of Gadhafi I, but please just tell me the truth. No fly zone my buttocks. Just tell me the mission is to, yes, enforce a no fly zone, but we are also going to destroy equipment that CANNOT FLY!!! Holy crap… do words mean nothing? And by the way, do we yet know who the rebels are? Nope, I can answer that quite easily.

I have gotten a kick out of listening to commentators talking about how the current Libyan government has such an advantage over the rebels trying to overthrow them. Umm, just for a little comparison here… do you think the United States has / had an advantage over the Taliban when B-52s dropped their payload? This has ‘nothing’ to do with whether or not I support the current government; I have not for at least 35 of the 40 years it has been in power. Dunno, just wondering.

Everybody admits Charlie Sheen is sick. Why then would he be fired without being offered treatment for his illness. We have had this crammed down our throats for years. Companies must offer this, must offer that, ‘especially’ if one is deemed ill. Don’t think anyone can deny the lad is ill. Why then has Warner Brothers dumped ole Charlie? What a wicked web we weave.

It is time once again for the nasty oil companies to be blamed for what’s going on. I’m so very sick of the drill. Oil goes up for whatever reason… some day drill, drill, drill. BTW, we do have the oil here to completely cut the Saudis off. We just aren’t allowed to get at our oil. We have the technology to build nuclear power plants, but again, are not allowed. And I really do get tired of this excuse – it will take three years to get oil from new digs. Umm, how many times have you heard that excuse? So it takes three years… so fricking what. People will be employed among other things. Soooo, as I said, it is time to blame Big Oil once again. It is so very tired.

I get very ticked when listening to the commentators talk about collective bargaining, and what a dastardly thing is happening in WI among other states. If they would just differentiate between the public and private sector it would be OK, but the do not make the distinction.

Let us turn this around, what if, just lean back and ask yourself, what if George Bush had just said the government would no longer defend Roe vs. Wade. Do you think there might have been howls for impeachment post haste??? Somebody in the Judicial Branch of this government needs to take this fellow down a peg or two. Anyone read ‘Profiles in Courage’? JFK’s book. It seems that title fits precisely to the senators in WI who have slunk their way out of the state. I have no clue what the end result will be; if history repeats, the Republicans will probably fold, but… it seems to me since the governor campaigned on this very issue, the people have spoken. You don’t take your ball and go home just because things are not going your way.

I continue to be amazed at recent polls showing former President Ronald Reagan as the most popular ex president. I can clearly remember how the left in this country, and hence the mainstream press despised President Reagan. They openly called him dumb. I must gall them to see the results of these recent polls. I enjoy them immensely.

Dunno how things will shake out in the Middle East but one thing is for absolute sure; the price of oil is gonna go UP!! And the kicker? The administration is preventing oil drilling in this country. And not a peep from our illustrious media. We are gonna be a suffering folks, and plenty soon. And… we may end up with Gadhafi close by in Venezuela. What a treat.

You should notice after all the uprising in Egypt has died down, the Google fellow has been strangely quiet. He had been given big credit for being ‘the instigator’ of the revolution. In the aftermath, he is silent. What about all this new freedom? I suspect, in the end (you pick the country), things will return to dictatorships of one sort or another. I’m betting a good steak dinner.

So I’m looking over / reading about some of President Obama’s budget cuts – umm, heating assistance to the poor, Pell grants among others.

You have to be the biggest idiot in this world to even consider the fact anyone will cut heating assistance to the poor. Trust “ME” when I say it will increase. And the same goes for Pell grants. He is indeed slick. He ‘knows’ that when push comes to shove, and should the wascally wepublicans submit those cuts, the people will rise up, and ‘HE’ will ride to the wescue. He is indeed slick.

The freezing of discretionary spending? Another sleight of hand. The President RAISED spending by extreme levels during his first two years – and those raised levels are where he wants to freeze. The media, by not pointing this fact out is complicit in the sleight of hand.

The President has ignored his own commission's recommendations. For the record… there ‘should’ be no need for commissions. Congress should have the cojones to make cuts when required; since we all know Congress abdicated their responsibilities many moons ago, Presidents appoint commissions, and then after those commissions come up with their advice, it gets ignored.

We all thought Bill Clinton was a smooth talker. He could not hold a candle to this young fellow, and the media ‘is’ complicit.

I am sure we can all agree with the great democratic victory for the people of Egypt. I of course am somewhat skeptical. I am not too sure just what the people of Egypt thought was going to happen. This much I do know. The military is in complete control, and that sounds like a coup to me. Anyone knows (or should know) Mubarak was kept in charge ‘by the military’. So…. methinks we are in for some interesting times along the way.

I have no clue how the Egyptian issue is going to end, but I suspect Hosni will leave one way or the other ‘before’ September. In the meantime, it was breathtaking to hear him tell President Obama to go pound sand, if for no other reason it just does not happen too frequently.

If you as a somewhat aware American are not scared to death with the absolute ignorance of James Clapper, our Director of National Intelligence, you must be totally oblivious. Incompetence is an understatement when discussing this subject.

In my opinion, I thought Bill O’Reilly went easy on President Obama during the Super Bowl interview. I did not however have any problem with his style of interviewing. If you are going to interview a politician, you had better be able to break in or the person being interviewed will filibuster big-time. On the other hand, on his show, (O’Reillys), it is disgusting to me to have to listen to Bill solicit comments from all his cohorts about how ‘he’ did while interviewing The President. Sounds too much like he wants un-needed pats on the back.

It has been interesting to see / hear the leaders in Europe, Merkel, Sarkozy, and Cameron say multiculturalism has failed in their countries. While I think it may be too late to turn the clocks back there, it is something I believe we should take to heart. Will we? I doubt it. Just wouldn’t be prudent doncha know.

Government Healthcare At It’s Finest

So – I kept seeing an ad in the paper from a local pharmacy saying if one had diabetes, it might be possible to get shoes for free through Medicare. This piqued my interest, and, since I have the honor of having diabetes I called.

The lady said one needed a script from their doctor and then Medicare would pay 80% and your insurance would normally pick up the remainder. I said, what if one didn’t want to bother with the doctor and just wanted the shoes. She said $100.00 American for the shoes, and $20.00 for the inserts (three pair).

I got the script from my doctor – I drove to the pharmacy and told the fellow what I was interested in – now, he doesn’t know I have a script with me, so I pulsed him how the deal worked. He repeated what the lady had told me on the phone. I said, how much would it be if my supplemental did not cover the shoes. He said my share (20%) would be around $80.00 American. This means they would be billing Medicare right around $400.00.

Now, as a taxpayer I was simply amazed and made some comment about good ole Uncle Sugar. Fella looked me right in the eye and said we (the pharmacy) need and have a right to get a cut of the pie. I don’t even disagree with that, but my simpleton math says these shoes have been marked up about 300%. So I of course saw this as a good deal for all concerned and ordered a pair; in fact asked if I could have two. NO – just one per year, so you know where I will be next January.

Gotta write my grandson (who just began working), a note and thank him for paying taxes. In reality this makes me want to vomit, but we deserve it, don’t we?

And now the aftermath – Peter King of NY is trying to introduce a bill that would make it illegal to come within 1000 feet of a government official. Umm, Mr. King – do you think someone off their rocker, and or a criminal gives a whit about a 1000 foot barrier? As has been said so many times before. We have enough laws on the books to take care of this and many other issues. Just enforce them!!

It has been disgusting to see the quick accusations pointed at the Tea Party post the shootings in Arizona. I have already seen a few of the videos posted by the shooter Jared Loughner – if you can align this wingnut to ‘any’ political affiliation you might want to check that wacky weed of yours. He is a total loon.

BTW – for the record, the Congresswoman from AZ – Gabrielle Giffords is a conservative democrat. Considering the political climate there, and we all know what the issue is – if anything, people on the political left would be the ones upset. To automatically blame the Tea Party? Let me just say this. The Tea Party folks I have come in contact with are a cut above the day to day Americano. They are aware of their government and how it works. They do not like it, and know how to fix it – at the ballot box. The Tea Party has replaced militias in the blame game.

Let me just say this – I have learned, over a long period of time to not jump to conclusions. It is difficult to not do so when listening to the national media in this country, but I guess age does wonders for we the common folk. On the ‘day after’, we find this Congressperson even voted ‘against’ Pelosi for the Speaker post this past week. Gotta be a Tea Partier, right? Disgusting!

I notice the Russians are taking a month or so to look over the new START Treaty. Fancy that - they claim they want to take the time to read the thing. Somewhere along the line we are going to wise up. It just 'had' to be done before the end of the year... it just 'had' to be so The President would not look bad. Yup... snookered once again. We like it though.

End of life counseling. Personally I have nothing against this happening in hospitals etc., but, they had to take this 'out' of the health care bill before they could get it passed in Congress. So what is the status now? Those administering this hodgepodge just wrote a regulation to include end of life counseling as a matter of law. No problem folks. We will make the laws via regulation, and if you don't like it, lump it! Ahhhh, feels good doesn't it? By the way, do you know 'any', I repeat 'any' doctor that will not as a matter of course participate in an end of life discussion with their patient? I don't, but then I guess I am living in a hole. Don't forget one thing - Speaker Pelosi said we had to pass it before we knew what was in the bill. Guess what. They can add anything they want just by someone writing a regulation.

Bipartisanship

Can we all please agree being bipartisan really means if your side wins? I am so sick and tired of the word bipartisan. One things for sure; during the health care debacle it was partisan and NOT bipartisan.

Now with the Republicans coming into power in the House, all we hear is we need to be bipartisan. Makes me wanna vomit in a way, but knowing the Republicans the way I do, they will probably capitulate. They wanna be loved so badly.

You can take this back to the lowest level you can think of. When you were a child and went next door to see if Johnny wanted to play – somebody would say, let’s play kickball, and the other might say, lets play baseball. Now, if you were bipartisan, you’d play each game for half the time, but you know it didn’t work out that way. One or the other won out, e.g. they WON the debate!!!

Same thing in politics. One side wins, the other loses. There is nothing wrong with being partisan (if you have the right ideas). And, “IF” you are NOT partisan, you should not be affiliated with any political party.

Now, git up to the blackboard and write one hundred times.

Did you know two of the ways Congress planned to pay for the new health care were 1) eliminating the high end of the Bush tax RATES, and 2) cutbacks in payments to doctors in Medicare? Well, let’s see now – Congress capitulated on the cuts to the doctors, and I think we all know the Bust tax RATES for all will continue.

I was no ‘real’ fan of President Clinton, although he looks pretty good right now, but… it was so interesting watching the body language last week when Presidents Obama and Clinton took the stage after their meeting. President Clinton absolutely dominated the scene. I nearly felt sorry for President Obama.

Not to fear what with the gas prices rising. We can just buy more from the Arabs. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Good grief, when will we ever learn? And, along the same lines, if ethanol cannot stand on its own two feet it should be eliminated. Quit subsidizing things that do not sell. Like GM!!! Just a side note – gas was averaging $1.81 when President Obama took office.

I’m STILL waiting to have problems buying vegetables. They told us there would be nobody to pickem when they cracked down on the illegals, and they ‘did’ tell us they were crackin down, so umm, I’m just a wondering when the shortage will show up in the commissary. Oh well, off to make a salad to munch on with some ham.

Rambling Along Life’s Path

The news the other day again woofed about The Octomom being way behind on her rent in her 400K house. Article said the landlord was really getting tired of this and was gonna finally put her out <THIS TIME>. I do NOT care. “Please” put her out!!!

George W must be smiling right about now. The democrats are eating themselves over the tax issue. For the entire eight years Bush was in office his tax cuts were bad, horrible, whatever descriptive you can come up with. Now, (and they do still control things), – they are going to end up extending the tax rates Bush implemented. You can see it coming from a mile away. Think about this just abit. The ‘know’ there has never been a time when raising taxes has generated jobs. I always hear about during the Clinton years taxes were higher. If you allow your mind to slip back gently. you will remember the internet was just getting up and going – bigtime. Al G and all that rot. I can remember seeing all the money flying around and yet looking at the bottom line of companies and saying… where is the actual money? Don’t just think about companies like Google. Too many to count went tango uniform (if you need that explained), just ask. It was a bubble, much like what happened with housing. Doesn’t matter; Bush just has to be smiling abit.

We keep being told if the unemployment benefits are not extended beyond the current 99 weeks, 600,000 will be added to the unemployment ranks almost immediately. Well, let us now apply that sort of logic to a few other things. Let us pay farmers to quit tilling their land thereby ‘increasing’ the food supply. Let us quit drilling for petroleum, thereby increasing oil supplies. Should work doncha think? Sometimes the logic given to us by government mouthpieces is astounding. And yes I do know we currently pay farmers to not plant, and our current government has in essence quit drilling for ‘new’ oil. I am not sure what to make of the length of time one can draw unemployment. I do know that over the years I was working I did things at times I did not want to do. It was because I wanted to eat.

I am going to do my very best to not make a mess when Nancy turns the gavel of The House over to John when the new Congress convenes. I will make sure I am sitting on a double towel.

Remember when they told us if we got tougher on illegals we would not have fresh vegetables cause they would rot in the fields? Supposedly, depending on whom one talks to, the numbers of illegals has decreased. In fact with the high unemployment rate in this country, many have returned to home base. Umm, have you had any problems getting veggies? Just wondering and wandering, looking for answers.

I continue to be amazed at (generally) the Left’s fascination with Ms. Sarah Palin. When I say ‘generally’, I also refer to Mr. Joe Scarborough of Morning Joe on MSNBC. Joe portrays himself as a conservative Republican – he will say this at least five times each week. I no longer wonder who he is trying to convince. He left the reservation quite some time ago. Regardless, he now is trying to plant the seed of a third party headed by the mayor of New York City with himself as the Veep. He will of course deny this, but he just keeps planting the seed hoping it will sprout. I guess this is the reason he keeps attacking Sarah. He talks about needing civility in politics today, then talks about “is Sarah Palin too dumb to be President?” Sounds civil to me Joey. Just little things like that keep coming from the mouth of Morning Joe.

I’ve said on several occasions I do not believe Sarah will be President. ‘MY’ reason is of a much simpler origin than Joe of course. I just believe Sarah’s voice, over the course of a campaign would grate on folks to the point she could not win. Wiki Leaks Assange. I’m not too sure what to think about this issue. One thing I do know from my own experiences. If anyone thinks that young Army Private was able to supply all that Assange has distributed by himself, they are smoking something. If anything, what has been revealed so far shows just how much the classification of material is misused. Is it embarrassing to the U.S.? Yes. On the other hand, perhaps we have it coming to a degree. Something to keep an eye on and watch people squirm abit.

The new GM Volt is gonna sell for 41K – cost to GM to build the Volt is 40K – there is supposedly going to be an 8K tax credit if you buy one. Guess who is making up the difference. The circus man was right about suckers.

Why would ‘anyone’ be surprised Hillary had people checking on the Argentine President? Just when Hillary had nearly completed her rehabilitation old memories come flooding back. Can you say FBI files? Like 900 of them?

Election Aftermath

Most surprising to me – the margin of victory in California for both Brown and Boxer.

Most disappointing for me – Harry Reid victory in Nevada.

What is even bigger than the numbers in the House – the ten new Republican governors and the state legislatures that turned over to Republican. This is big and ‘as’ important as the turnover of the House.

I am ‘not’ disappointed in the way West Virginia turned out. Manchin will probably be an almost safe vote for the Republicans in the type of legislation I worry about. At least for two years. His term is only for two years and he’ll be up for re-election in 2012.

Most satisfying to me – Rubio’s victory in Florida, and in particular his smoking Crist. I despise Crist. He is yellow; he was a finger raiser who checked the wind direction. Rubio is a new breed, one who speaks clearly and stuck to his theme all the way through the campaign. He is a star on the horizon within the Republican Party. And, he told the truth in his victory speech. His warning to Republicans to not misinterpret the result of this election. Good advice.

Second most satisfying result – Harry Reid remaining as Majority Leader in the Senate. You might wonder why. He is a sleazy individual, and as such will be front and center for the public to see. I suspect in 2012 he will be the minority leader.

So post last night, the word compromise is flying freely – it surely was not being used prior to last night. In fact it took President Obama 18 months to invite Senator McConnell to the White House. But ‘now’ they want to compromise. Interesting doncha think?

Going into last night, my predictions were 69 House and 9, perhaps 10 Senate. There are currently fifteen House seats too close to call – I will settle for half and a final tally of 67 or 68. In the Senate we currently have six. If Murkowski wins she will still caucus with the Republicans, bringing to 7 – Washington and Colorado are still too close to call, but I’d settle for one of those. Don’t wanna git greedy.

It was a good night America. Thanks to all who exercised their right to vote.

For me, the only consolation I see is, Behar’s show on HLN is running dead last with a grand total of 339,000 viewers this past week. You do indeed reap what you sew “Joy”.

President Bush will soon be out on the talk show circuit pushing his book. I will bet you my last $ you will not find The President slamming his successor. Just an example of someone who tries to do it right. I so wish other former ‘living’ presidents would do the same.

Our Man Juan

First and foremost, Juan was ‘right’! If you are in an airport, you see Muslims “in garb” preparing to board your plane, and you do not get a flutter, or at least a sense of anticipation in your inner self, you are either lying or you are dead. He was right! Can’t say it any plainer than that, and that is precisely what Juan did on Bill’s show. I know; I was watching.

I have watched Juan for a minimum of ten years. I disagree with him more than I agree. One thing I can honestly say. He is always fair in his presentation. He will listen, and I have seen him concede a point when shown the light. At times he infuriates me when he gets me to ‘see the dark light’ from the other side, but he has made me do so on occasion.

I used to have a young lad work for me who listened to NPR as his only source of news. I listen to NPR because I want to hear other side on occasion. That’s right. I KNOW before turning it on what their side will be, but I want to hear it now and then. Well the lad was generally angry much like the peeps who work at NPR seem to be. In general they never want to hear the other side. They just want to slam those wascally Republicans.

It is indeed a sad commentary that NPR – National Public Radio will not allow what they perceive to be, another view to be heard. For crying out loud, Juan has, for the most part spewed NPR’s side during his appearances on FOX. FOX, those dirty scummy S.O.B.s. NOW we are getting to the nub of the issue. NPR should be totally ashamed of themselves.

Political Polls – the polls for this upcoming election range from the GOP barely winning, to the GOP winning in a landslide. Who in the sam hill actually believes these things? I think a prediction or two could easily be in order, but there is ‘no’ way there should be such disparity between the pollsters… <UNLESS>, and we all know this to be true… the pollsters are politically driven. This should tell any thinking Americano all they need to know. The one thing I do believe is the taxpaying public is pissed. Accordingly, I think they are energized which will result in a shift of power. That’s what I think.

Political ads – I have activated my mute button. I’m thinking if they would at least play ‘different’ ads, but nooo, they are the same ones, over, and over, and over again. My mute finger has a callous. Do not the politicians think after a certain point they literally are offending people? I think so.

The media’s bullying phenomena – except it is NOT. Bullying has been around, is around, and always will be around. It is human nature… it does not mean I agree with it in ‘any’ way. I just know it will always be with us until we turn to dust. I don’t give a hang if they call it bullying, a crime, or for goodness sakes, a hate crime. It is around and always will be around.

We had a shooting in a local hospital yesterday. The shooting itself is not the story here. During the reporting it was revealed a lady was on the third floor where her son was getting a liver transplant. So you ask, why is that part of the story. Well, the lady was from Canada. Without knowing anything more than that, I wanna know why in the world ‘anyone’ from Canada, where they have such wonderful health care, would dare come to Omaha Nebraska and get a liver transplant. This will NOT stand!!!

I see where Pottawattamie County in Iowa is going to begin charging room and board for their prisoners. The charge will be $50.00 per day, American. The story did NOT mention what happens if the prisoner is indigent or here illegally. I think they should add a restaurant tax or something to ensure collection of the room and board regardless. Just saying.

California and Meg Whitman – my gal Gloria Allred has revealed that Ms. Whitman employed an illegal for 8+ years. I listened to Ms. Whitman tell Neil Cavuto yesterday she had documents that showed the agency ‘Nikki’ had come from had correct papers when hired. I know if you lean left, you automatically believe Whitman is a liar. Personally I don’t care. I’d like to believe she is smarter than to NOT have proper papers. I of course have other questions. To wit:

1) I have NO doubt Whitman was withholding taxes to include social security etc. on this employee. Start thinking about that just a little bit.

2) Think of all the people involved who KNEW ‘Nikki’ was here illegally. Makes my stomach churn.

I notice several national columnists advocating doing away with the filibuster rule in the Senate – I seem to remember these same folks being ‘against’ changing the filibuster rule when the Republicans were in charge. And they make their arguments with a straight face. Interesting.

I am stunned at how much ‘news’ one can pick up via 140 characters. Shall we say ‘Breaking News’? One can’t be on Twitter all day, although it seems some are, but when you open Twitter and just scan for abit, it truly is amazing what technology has brought.

I was listening to Morning Joe the other day. He is on this kick to umm, take meanness out of politics. He then goes on to give examples of rhetoric he deemed to be inappropriate. He referred to <the professional left>, and the <extreme right>. Joe, words do mean things. His choice of professional and extreme say it all in my book.

The state of education in or nations schools is the latest ‘thing’. I truly do hope the powers that be can come to a resolution and fix the problems in our schools. In the end, I suspect ‘their’ answer will be to throw money at the issue. My own belief is, unless and until they address the issue of the unions, they are, shall we say, swimming upstream. President Bush, in ‘his’ effort, “LET” Teddy write the bill named ‘No Child Left Behind’. This was Bush’s effort at bipartisanship early on in his administration. Bush of course is savaged for the failure of education reform. More money is not always the answer. Sometimes if the money comes after true reform, it does some good.

Anybody know what is happening regards the Ground Zero mosque? Seems to have slipped away. Either the news is moving too fast, or people have gotten their mileage out of this story.

My Advice To The GOP

If indeed the GOP takes over the Congress, I have abit of advice for them as it pertains to health care, Obama Care, whatever you are calling it these days.

Most of the media is portraying the GOP as stopping / rescinding healthcare in toto. First of all, I don’t believe they will even attempt to roll it all back. My advice is to go slowly. There are several aspects of the new bill that everyone is in agreement with; two examples are pre-existing conditions and no limit on one’s benefits.

I suspect that is the GOP’s intent, but I sure do not hear them refuting the media who keeps insisting the rascally Republicans are going to roll it all back. Not gonna happen.

Words Mean Things (I Think)

I have grown tired of people saying things like – there is a Muslim prayer room in the Pentagon – there ‘was’ a Muslim prayer room in The World Trade Center – and on and on. I guess I can easily agree with those statements. Media people however use these facts to justify a mosque at the so called Ground Zero.

Is there a mosque in the Pentagon? Was there a mosque in The World Trade Center? I don’t think so.

I’ve been on military installations all over the world. There are chapels on each and every base I’ve visited. There may in fact be more than one chapel depending on the size of the base. At no time have I ever seen a denomination specific chapel. There may be a Protestant service immediately followed by a Catholic service immediately followed by a Jewish service and so on – and the services may be in any order. Since my time in the military, they have even added Muslim services. But… I defy you to show me a base that has a mosque.

So why do the commentators use the fact ‘services’ are allowed (or were allowed) in these locations to lobby for the mosque at Ground Zero? I dunno, but in my mind it is an illogical argument.

Why I Do Not Care If They Lose

Here’s the deal, short and to the point – do you realize if the gentle lady from Maine, Olympia Snowe had not helped the democrats, we would not be stuck with this health care bill now? This is the very reason I do not care if O’Donnell loses in Delaware. Correction – I care, I just want someone who will stand on their principles.

Have you ever heard a politician campaign on the fact they will raise taxes? I can only think of one – Walter Mondale, and I think we all know what happened to him. The point is, they ‘all’ campaign on cutting taxes and spending, then they go to Washington. This by the way is pointed at both parties. I ‘hope’ beyond all hope the Republicans have learned their lesson as it appears they are gonna be in charge of the purse strings once again. If they haven’t learned they will be disposed of in short order.

I will say again, it appears the women of the Republican Party will be the ones to lead us out of the morass we find ourselves in – they appear to be the ones with the courage, and the backbone to lead. Hopefully some of the males will fall into line and follow.

Finally, I listen to Morning Joe (MSNBC), with some regularity – when the show started a few years ago, I listened because Joe was a conservative, and it was fun watching him balance the ‘generally’ liberal guests on the show. For the last year or so, Joe has gone squishy. He now castigates the Republicans almost daily. A few weeks ago he was dogging Marko Rubio from Florida. Rubio was backed by the Tea Partiers, and Joe was backing Charlie Crist who the Republicans refused to back in his bid for the Senate. So, ole Charlie went Independent, and Joe was saying how much more moderate etc. Charlie was and therefore the one to elect. This was almost a daily banter.

So – now that Rubio is up by 10-15 points Ole Joe is silent. This should give people with fortitude, those with principles the courage to go on and ignore the learned few. Perhaps they are not as learned as they think. The American people are stirred up.

And really finally – I grew up loving Wiliam F. Buckley – I like Charles Krauthammer today, reading his columns and listening to him regulary on TV – Charles has been knocking Christine O’Donnell as unelectable in Delaware; he talks about Buckley’s rule that says you back the most conservative candidate who is electable. With all due respect to Mr. Krauthammer; is that not what got us here in the first place? I want someone who is willing to say ‘no’, who is willing to campaign on that and follow through. If they campaign on it and lose, so be it; we get precisely what we deserve – to wit, the dishonorable Charlie Rangel who just won his primary and will I am sure be re-elected to serve yet again (among many others).

General Thoughts

Let’s start with the premise nobody seems to have figured out yet. The American electorate is ‘upset’. I don’t care what you call them – many call them the Tea Party – others use a derogatory term… doesn’t matter, nobody seems to understand.

The result in Delaware last night made me proud – in fact it has given me the impetus to probably for the first time in my life, give a donation out of state.

The actions of the national Republicans is and was abysmal! They made me want to vomit! It is fun watching those who say she had no chance try and eat their words.

I listened to them dog Marco Rubio in Florida – guess who has an (in the teens) lead as of this writing. Give me one Rubio; you can have all the fricking Castles (and McCains), you want. I want someone with principle. I don’t care if they pass all the legislation in the world with ONE caveat. Is it good for America. If it is not good for America, have the gonads to say so and vote against.

Chris Christie in Joisey for goodness sakes has my attention. He is “TELLING” the state’s workers they have to cut back… it is gonna happen. He is facing reality – PERIOD! Give me ‘more’ Christies!!!

John McCain on the other had is reverting to form. He is making noises (now that he is past the primary), of going back to a back door amnesty. John McCain can kiss my rosie red buttocks! I am grateful he did not get to be President; he would have literally made me puke – all in the name of ‘getting along’. I don’t care if he was a war hero; is the legislation good for America!!!! Git it though your heads. If it is not good for the nation, have courage; say NO!

There are several women running for elective office (many Republican) who have restored my faith – they have courage – they do NOT care if they are disagreed with – it is called integrity. They have my support.

Obama, Rahm, Jarrett, Axlerod, Duncan, Rogers (has left) – this is just a partial list, but many more made the move from Chicago. I am sort of surprised they never found a place for Blago. Just Rambling

Dunno how the health care is going to end up, but it is apparent there will me major changes from what has already been passed. State after state are raising barriers to the federal mandates. What does this mean? To me, either it is going to change by ‘changing’ what has already been passed, or it is going to be tied up in court so massively that it will be repealed. Now there are parts that I believe all Americans are for, pre-conditions being paramount, but other things are gonna go by the way side. You can see this coming.

The weather today was so very glorious when I awoke I added an extra .75 miles to my daily walk. I was tired but it was just plain wonderful outside.

I watched several news video clips on the Jan Brewer incident, and they made her look awful. My heart went out to her. It was her opening statement in a debate, and she ‘very obviously’ lost her place. Later, on a morning talk radio show I heard the incident played in its entirety. The difference was, they played the whole thing. Were I an Arizonian the incident would not have made one iota of difference on whether or not I’d vote for her. The problem for the Democrat is, he was still ten points down ‘after’ the debate.

I am not wavering on my thought that Sarah will NOT be the Republican nominee in 2010. There can be little doubt however, ‘she’ has had major influence on candidates running this year. I don’t believe it is a gender thing; I believe it is the voice. Her voice begins to grate after awhile. On me anyway.

I personally am disgusted with the federal governments actions against the state of Arizona. I ‘think’ the governments actions may just be the driving force in what is steering the changeover coming in November. There are other things to be upset about, but the way the government is fighting against Arizona may just be the most upsetting. Time will tell.

Just remember this – it is all ‘Bushs’ fault, umm, except for the victory in Iraq. Now, I know the term victory is debatable, but I think you git my drift.

I watched much of the Beck event at the Lincoln Memorial. I watched for several reasons, none important; mainly I wanted to watch because I knew the media would have plenty to say regards the gathering.

I must say I was stunned that most in the crowd (you name the number), had complied with the request of ‘No Signs’. It was an amazing gathering. Leading up to the event I had heard many predict the turnout would be minimal. They also scoffed at the makeup of the people who would come. Well, I for one was pleasantly surprised. I kept looking for something to complain about. These were in my opinion, normal Americans. The pictures from the air were magnificent.

I later read the write-ups from major media regards the numbers from Beck vs. Sharpton. It was amazing. The simply did not want to admit the number of people who showed up for Beck. I watched Morning Joe this morning to see their reaction. They were some who had negatively talked about the event leading up to it happening. They were somewhat contrite if I do say so. I think they are beginning to feel, actually feel what is happening in this political year. None of us know of course, but it is beginning to look like a sea change is coming. Time will tell.

Many know of my disdain for the way the media blamed President Bush and his administration for their response to Katrina. I “FINALLY” heard someone speak truth. Granted it was some local yahoo from Naw Leans who said it, but it is the truth. He said the following: “if the levees had not broken, today we would have been saying, what was the name of that storm five years ago?” Now THAT is truth nobody wants to admit.

In an interview with Brian Williams, President Obama says he ignored the Beck rally – methinks even if he did, he maybe shouldn’t be so flippant about it. I’m thinking there is a reason for the turnout. A real reason. Is it November yet?

No matter what they say, Sarah has had an impact in who she backs in the various political races around the country.

This does NOT change my mind on her national possibilities. While I don’t disagree with most of her views, I maintain it is her delivery. I think her voice grates on people.

So it is interesting to watch national media yak about Sarah’s affect on the various races. Leading up to this weeks primaries, they had said she was no longer a factor. Methinks she disproved this thesis once again. The lady ‘can’ stir up a crowd.

I have heard ‘several’ different commentators talk about the fact President Bush 43 should talk about the ground zero mosque issue. I refer to it as ground zero intentionally since there are those who want to ‘not’ mention the words ground zero and mosque in the same sentence. Regardless, after these people have hammered President Bust for more than eight years, when President Obama gets into a tight spot they want his help? They are scum in my eyes. I even heard one excuse President Clinton for not publically speaking about the issue because his wife is Secretary of State. Oh well – guess one should be used to it by now.

It rained all weekend at Martha’s Vineyard. What a dirty rotten shame.

It looks like McCain will be once again elected in Arizona. That is why, I, will take a deep breath and not believe a turnover in Congress until I see it as fact. In my humble opinion, McCain will be doubly dangerous once he is reelected. This undoubtedly will be his last last (thank God), election. He will be doubly dangerous ‘knowing’ he has nobody to answer to. Very sad.

I keep hearing little rumbles about whether or not The President will run for reelection. Let me say it again… regardless whether or not he does, ‘he’ has accomplished more that will define ‘YOUR’ and ‘your children’s’ future than any president I can think of. And he’s not even half way through his first term.

I see our lady Shirley has turned down the new job at the Department of Agriculture. She says she still intends to sue Breitbart though. I look forward to that issue.

Lest there be ‘any’ doubt… Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a hero of mine. May the good Lord protect you Joe.

Lest there be ‘any’ doubt, I am against the building of the mosque close to ground zero. Further, I could care less if you cannot understand the reasons for my feelings.

Lest there be ‘any’ doubt, President Obama has accomplished more in his first two years than most any President I can think of. I don’t agree with much of any he has accomplished, but the fact is, this President has impacted this country for decades to come. And NOT in a good way. He and his cohorts have had to resort to going against public opinion, but then, the American people know nothing, so… the simple fact is, even if he is a one term President, we are in deep doo doo from what he has accomplished.

Lest there be ‘any’ doubt, for ‘The Left’ to lecture me about religious tolerance is an insult. We can’t pray in public schools, We can’t have a nativity scene in public places or we get sued. We can’t even say Merry Christmas. Bull Pucky!!! And they want to use the ‘tolerance’ for the mosque? They are fools.

Lest there be ‘any’ doubt, I am STILL looking for the shovel ready projects the administration said were ready when they passed the fricking stimulus. Had they done that, they probably would not be in the shape they are today. When is the last time you heard ‘shovel ready’? You heard it every dadgummed day when they were pining for the stimulus… now? Notta!!! They have in my mind squandered the monies.

Lest there be ‘any’ doubt, I still believe the economy will recover in SPITE of what Washington does. This Republic is stronger than anything Washington can dish up. The people ‘will’ take it back and make it right. I ‘do’ believe in the economy of this country even though my retirement funds have been riddled. And, by the way, I am NOT blaming Bush. For anyone to say Bush created all of this is to give him more credit than is humanly possible for any one man, or any one administration.

Tom Delay six years later: So after six years, the government just says ‘we are sorry, no case here’? This is disgusting no matter which side of the political scale you line up on. Were I ‘The Hammer’, I think I’d be suing for lawyer’s costs and a whole lot more!! Total disgust.

The mosque issue: In my opinion it is all about perceptions. What do ‘you’ perceive when you think of 9/11? Common decency, or should I say just plain common sense dictates it be built ‘away’ from ground zero. Let us put it another way. Should we have a Japanese place of worship where the Arizona went down? Should we have a shrine to Hitler at Auschwitz? Should the KKK be able to open a meeting hall by a monument to Martin Luther King? Just wondering. Should we be able to have a nativity scene at the White House? Oh, you say we can’t? Hmmm.

By the way – I do realize the potential mosque is at least two city blocks away from ground zero. Again, it is perceptions that count here in my own mind. In fact, I suspect if it is approved, they may have a hard time getting American workers to build the structure.

Do I believe if the Republican Party takes over Congress things will get better? Perhaps, but they will have to prove it to me. I’ve been sucked in before. People forget that Congress has been run by the Democrat Party since 2007 – they think just because there was a Republican President, the elephants are at fault. The DONKEYS have had the purse strings since 2007, period. Before that, yes indeed the elephants had them and they failed as far as I am concerned, but it is getting worse. One can only ‘hope’ incoming lawmakers of whichever party have gotten the message. I will have to see it to believe it though.

Just Wondering

All this talk about not allowing children born here to automatically be United States citizens got me to wondering about the issue. So, being the nitwit I am, I opened up my copy of the Constitution of the United States of America and began to read abit.

September 17th 1787 – this is the date of the original document. If I’m reading it correctly, it was ratified on 4 March, 1789. <THEN> it was amended. The 14th amendment was ratified on 9 July 1868. It does indeed talk about all persons who are born here are citizens of these United States. There is no question regarding those words or, in my mind, their intent.

Nowhere in the document does it talk about the parents being in this country illegally. And this is where I have my question.

If the original Constitution was indeed amended, what is to say it cannot be amended again to address this issue? I say it can – do I expect it to happen in my lifetime? No! All I’m saying is, it is possible.

I am hearing more and more politicians in the democrat party talking about how letting the Bush tax cuts expire will hurt the economy. Doncha wonder how that could be? I mean, if they ‘hurt’ the economy when the economy was good, why wouldn’t getting rid of them now be ‘good’? Sumpin not making sense until you FINALLY realize it was all about class warfare. And a lie.

So the drug cartels now have a million dollar bounty on the head of Sheriff Joe. Yup, that is what we want in this country. Total chaos. I have never been armed in civilian life. It may be time. Granted, this is an alleged threat. It does make sense based on what is transpiring just across the border. And just in case anyone wonders – Sheriff Joe is a hero of mine.

Where is Shirley? As in Ms. Sherrod? Man I hope she follows through with her lawsuit agin Mr. Breitbart. Methinks before this is all settled, the general populace will begin to understand what I perceive to be the truth about Ms. Shirley. And I ‘still’ do not condone Breitbart’s method of releasing the video. But I will guarantee you, ‘she’ is not as ‘she’ has been portrayed.

No matter what one thinks of The President’s standing these days, you have to admit he has gotten allot accomplished in less than two years. Most of it, taxpaying Americans will not like in the end. Takers will like it as long as it lasts. And since the takers have approached fifty percent, it is going to be very difficult to get rid of much of the changes. Especially if the takers vote. Just reality folks. Obama the candidate told us what Obama the president would do. He said he wanted to be a transformative president. He told us his administration would be all about fundamentally transforming America. But it seems not many of the people who hoped for change were listening except to the hope and change part.

So I read this morning that the dreaded BP who was coerced out of $20B by the administration is taking nearly a $10B tax write-off. This means, btw, YOU and ME. Now, before you all go off wetting yourself with indignation, take a moment to realize how BP is able to do this deed. Can you say Congress? Who writes these laws? BP is doing nothing wrong according to the crooks who wrote the laws.

Count me as one who will NOT buy the new Chevy Volt. First of all, I stated previously I’d never buy another GM vehicle since the freaking bailout. Second of all I read this morning this puppy will go 40 louse miles on it’s battery. Course it has a gas tank that will take you over 300 miles, but when I get it home to charge, it will probably take at least 2-3 hours to do that deed. And just in case you are wondering, electricity is gonna go up like a lightening bolt (pun intended).

They are eating fish from the Gulf again. Umm, I thought this was gonna last for YEARS!!!! YEARS you fools!!!!

Have to laugh at Ole John Kerry. Once again, he has done ‘nothing’ wrong according to tax law written by the crooks in D.C., ‘but’, the atmosphere they have created is gonna force him to pay in Massachusetts. Poetic justice I’d say. Get mad if you want, but ‘by law’, he’s doing nothing wrong, or should I say ‘was doing nothing wrong’. What a wicked web we live in these days.

Just released a few moments ago – the judge in AZ has blocked the most controversial part of SB1070. November cannot come quick enough… I suspect this ruling is going to energize even more the vote ‘against’ this regime. “Yes We Can”!

I am not too sure what to make of this story. This is my opinion – I think Andrew Breitbart could have accomplished the same thing by saying up front the video was twenty four years old.

I have heard his explanation and it so happens I think I understand his reasoning, but, I don’t think he had to do it the way he did.

The bigger story is why the administration threw Ms. Sherrod under the bus ‘before’ at least hearing her explanation. Making her resign via her Black Berry while on the road? Unbelievable, then again, perhaps not.

I have said in the past, and this story brings it up yet again – racism in this country has been set back twenty years with the election of President Obama – not because he is black, but because of the way he, and I do mean The President, incites. And we as a nation had come so far. Sad to watch.

What is going on with the Administration is no longer by chance. I suspect President Obama now KNOWS the Democrat party is going to loose at a minimum The House. At that point he will be talking deficit reduction, saving money etc., and it will be up to the Republicans to make the harsh cuts.

Supreme Court just released their decision on the 2nd amendment, e.g., the right to bear arms. The decision was 5-4. I do not own a gun; this decision is scary to me. How one can vote against the right to bear arms is beyond my comprehension.

Anyone who believes the Republicans have the gonads to filibuster Kagan ‘has’ to be smoking some wacky weed.

I note the passing of Senator Byrd as once again showing the difference between how the media portrays liberals and conservatives. When Strom Thurmond passed, the media was quick to stress when once in his career he supported segregation. Have you heard the media talking about Byrd’s membership in the KKK, or his filibuster ‘against’ the Equal Rights Amendment? Just wondering.

The fact is, these were two old bulls from the SOUTH!!! They were both old enough to have lived during ‘different times’. It just continues to amaze how the parties are handled differently.

Does ‘anyone’ remember the way the press covered General Shinseki’s differences with President Bush as opposed to General McChrystal’s differences with President Obama?

Just tapping my memory banks, I do believe Shinseki was portrayed as a great leader to have the courage blah blah blah. McChrystal? He’s a bum.

For the record, I’ve said from the beginning McChrystal has to go. One just can’t do what he’s done… that being said, The President may keep him on board to oversee the withdrawal of Afghanistan. You do remember the deadline doncha? That deadline, in my humble opinion is the origin of the disagreement between Mr. Obama and the general.
